What began decades ago with our iconic messenger bag has grown into a skilled heritage brand that lives at the intersection of movement and self-expression.

1995/2023

Almost 30 years ago, we started working on better carry options for hardworking bike messengers around the world. Dissatisfied with the status quo, we got an idea: if seatbelt buckles are built to save lives, they’re tough enough for our bags. So, we pulled an Oldsmobile buckle from a junkyard, sewed it on an industrial-strength messenger, and Chrome was born.

I bought my Citizen in 2003. Not a single issue with the bag in 20 years. Rode year round in Denver and Seattle for at least a decade with the same bag. Literally the only bike bag I’ve ever needed
